Every Printer Earns Its Place in Our Inventory

RefurbishedJet is an independent retailer specializing in professionally refurbished HP printers for home and office use. We don't resell used printers as-is — every unit goes through a structured, multi-stage process before it is listed for sale.

Below is an honest account of exactly what we do — in the order we do it.

The Eight Stages

Sourcing & Acquisition

We source refurbished HP printers from verified commercial and institutional suppliers.

All units are acquired from businesses, educational institutions, and corporate fleet refreshes — not random consumer resale channels.

We only accept printers from leading manufacturers. No off-brand or unsupported models enter our inventory.

Each acquired unit is logged, tagged, and assigned for evaluation before anything else happens.

Initial Inspection

Every printer is physically examined before refurbishment begins.

Our technicians check the outer casing, paper trays, display panels, ports, and buttons for damage or wear.

Units with structural damage that cannot be remediated are removed from inventory and not listed for sale.

We verify the model, serial number, and hardware configuration at this stage.

Cleaning & Decontamination

Internal and external cleaning restores the printer to a clean operating state.

Dust, toner residue, paper debris, and contaminants are removed from rollers, paper paths, trays, and internal cavities.

Exterior surfaces are cleaned and inspected for cosmetic condition.

Cleaning is a prerequisite before any technical testing begins.

Component Assessment & Replacement

Worn or defective components are identified and replaced with compatible parts.

Rollers, fusers, feed assemblies, and other wear components are assessed and replaced where necessary.

Only compatible, functionally equivalent parts are used — no improvised substitutions.

Component work is documented in the unit's refurbishment record.

Print & Output Testing

Functional print tests verify output quality, alignment, and ink or toner delivery.

Multiple test prints are run across print modes — black-and-white and color where applicable.

Output is checked for streaking, banding, alignment issues, and color accuracy.

Paper feed, duplex printing, and tray handling are each verified independently.

Connectivity & Feature Verification

All connectivity options and printer features are tested before sign-off.

USB, wired network, and wireless (Wi-Fi) connections are each tested where the hardware supports them.

For all-in-one units, scanning functions — including flatbed, automatic document feeder, and duplex scan — are verified.

Mobile printing compatibility and any built-in touchscreen or display functions are also checked.

Final Quality Approval

Only printers that pass every stage are approved and listed for sale.

A technician performs a final review of the unit's refurbishment record and confirms all test stages were passed.

Printers that do not pass are either returned to refurbishment or removed from inventory.

Once approved, each unit is photographed, packaged, and prepared for shipment.

Packaging & Shipment

Approved printers are securely packaged and shipped with free delivery across the U.S.

Each printer is packed with appropriate protective materials to prevent transit damage.

Orders are dispatched with a tracking number provided by email.

We ship to all 50 U.S. states at no additional delivery charge.
